Plurk is actually a microblogging site which acts as a social journal. I joined plurk in June and i haven’t really been this attached to any other web 2.0 site .Here are 5 reasons why any person should plurk.
#1. Plurk actually acts as a stress-buster. When you feel bored or blue or if you feel like you can’t hold it back any longer, plurk is the best place to rejuvenate yourself and get motivated. Or if you think you are on cloud nine and have none to share things with, plurkville is again the one. Your search for happiness, solace and tranquility ends there.
#2. Unlike a blog post that is quite big, a plurk is actually 140 characters long and that’s not all.You have drop down boxes where plurkers have their say and you can effectively participate in any conversation. You’ll feel as if you’re involved in a face-face conversation. That’s the best part.
#3.Any blogger will want to promote his blog.No matter how. Goes without saying that Plurk is the best place to promote your blog posts. Gee, you can even get blog ideas from people. Brainstorming is the best way to come up with good posts and that happens here. Muhammed Siyab of Putting Blogs First does that really well.
#4.Knowledge, when unshared, goes down the drain. But at plurk there’s so much sharing of knowledge and world news that will want to make you crave for more.I personally stumble ‘news items’ on Stumbleupon for this reason!LOL! The first to know about any issues, say about the olympics or Barack Obama, will be plurkers!
#5.The best way to share pictures and videos is Plurk. The best and the worst part about Plurk is the Karma. More Karma==More Smilies. But we plurkers don’t usually care about Karma. We have everything we ask for, why do we have to care about a score system?
The list doesn’t end with this and there are a million reasons. But i am afraid pointing them out will be beyond the scope of this blog post.
Well , now, if you already are a plurker, what do you feel about plurk? What makes plurk the best part of your life?Have your say!

I’ve only been on Plurk for a few months, but I can honestly say that it’s the only social network/microblog I bother paying attention to anymore. I started out on Twitter but I couldn’t enjoy myself on there as it always felt so impersonal and cold. Plurk screams community and does a great job at encouraging interaction with others which, I think, we all crave in the end. I’m quite happy to call Plurk my home away from home.

Hey Ranjani,
Thanks for the kind mention. Really appreciate that
. Btw, I really like point 1. Plurk is a real good conversation starter and friend maker. I love it!
I agree that it is quite an entertaining tool…but after sometime plurk does end up being merely a gossip tool….
It lacks the focus and feel of twitter for sure..No APIs, a Karma system, creatures in return for higher Karma…are we still in school? I can have more meaningful conversations on my gtalk…
Rohit, stop being so serious about things! Enjoy plurking and be regular on plurk!:P
wow! never known abt it earlier.. i nw think, i jst have to see it!
Ranjani,
Yes, couldn’t agree more than you.
Plurk is a stress-buster and a place where I can chat, talk or get any idea even the latest issue from every body around the world.
I don’t have to add that person or like YM.
I can spit it out whatever I have in my mind.
Yes, I’ve never been attached like this before.
It’s time for plurk.

Plurk is fabulous but then that karma is too addictive and the bad part of it is in case u go somewhere u dont have access to internet u return back only to see that karma is reduced a lot.
Though i agree with most part of your blog i quite dont understand wth are these creatures involved. I agree to thunderror completely that its kinda kiddish sometimes but then may be thats too demanding. anyways i am in plurk i think thats enough to say i like it on the whole !!!
@rahul, yeah, karma is indeed addictive but why dwell on karma when you have awesome people you can interact at ease with? But of course, that’s your view and i can’t force you into accepting what plurk is really all about:)
I found plurk quite interesting and interactive. A must join website.
